Very Very Valet by developer Toyful Games is a couch co-op game that parachutes players into the high stakes world of valet parking. Up to four players work together to park cars and retrieve them in a timely fashion.
The objective of Very Very Valet is to park cars as patrons arrive at a restaurant and retrieve them when they’re done. With over 20 unique levels to play through, the game offers a decent variety through the levels to keep things fresh, such as teleporters, car catapults and other vehicles such as cars and in one instance airplanes.
There is a limited amount of time to park and retrieve cars. If that time expires the car is abducted by a mysterious light. Luckily if you are already in the car when the timer expires you don’t get abducted as well. As the game progresses powerups also start dropping giving you bonuses like faster movement or resetting timers.
There are four areas of five levels with each area also having a bonus level. You start each level with three stars and for each car that gets abducted you lose a star. The bonus stages have you doing things like knocking over bowling pins or collecting rubbish. These also have 3 stars but they are hidden throughout the level and you have to collect them. The last stage of each area needs a certain amount of stars to unlock so you do need to do reasonably well to progress.
The controls are a bit loose making steering a bit hard, but that just adds to the chaotic fun. The movement is relative to your direction and can be in forward or in reverse. To change between forward and reverse you let the control stick return to its neutral position then push in the way you want to go. You also get an arrow pointing out of your car to let you know which direction you are steering, green for forward and red for reverse.
The camera was a bit too zoomed in at times. It tries to show everything relevant at that point in time, such as players or cars waiting to be parked/retrieved, but sometimes that means you can’t see relevant parts of the stage. One stage in particular starts zoomed in pretty tight and you can’t see where you need to park the cars, which made knowing where to go difficult. Overall the maps are a lot of fun with plenty of entertaining elements like ramps for jumps and catapults.
Very Very Valet is a very fun, chaotic couch co-op game in the vein of Moving Out and Totally Reliable Delivery Service and highly recommended for those multiplayer madness nights. While you can play this game single player it’s not anywhere near as much fun as multiplayer so grab your mates and try this out!
