Upsets were the order of the day for World Of Tanks ANZPL Season 4 Round 3, with two big names being defeated. Let’s recap how the matches went down!
ANZPL Season 4 Round 3 Game 1: South Sydney Skorpions Vs Brisbane Bulldogs
The first attack and defence rounds were on the Skorpions’ map choice of Prokhorovka. Good shots from the Bulldogs and unlucky bounced shots from the Skorpions let the Bulldogs take an attacking victory despite bleeding health early. Bulldogs bled the Skoprions down on their defensive round but took a tank loss early on. Bulldogs kept the pressure up, taking control of the hill at F9 and take their Prokhorovka defence and both of the games on their opponent’s map choice. Shout out to Cows for putting out 7,234 damage, a massive total.
With the Bulldogs up 2-0 and moving to their map pick of Ghost Town, things were looking dire for Skorpions. Things only got worse for them with the Bulldogs using some superb focus fire to bleed out the Skorpions on attack and take another win. Bulldogs grouped up on their Ghost Town defence and looked like they might get the first 4-0 of the season, but the Skorpions weren’t going down without a fight. They took their own attacking win.
Brisbane Bulldogs defeat the South Sydney Skorpions 3-1.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 3 Game 2: North Sydney Sentinels Vs Christchurch Conquerors
North Sydney Sentinels were missing core player Rainbow and self-proclaimed six-star player Wym0, but the rest of their roster are no slouches. Coming up against a rejuvenated Christchurch Conquerors, it might not be enough.
The Sentinels on the defence of their map choice of Cliff bled a lot of damage crossing to the other side of the donut at F4. The Conquerors took advantage of this by driving all five of their tanks around the donut and smacking down the Sentinels with the loss of only one tank. After a one-for-one trade the Conquerors once again took a battle near the donut giving them a 2-0 lead.
This exciting Conquerors line up moved to their map pick of Ghost Town with an attacking game. Driving one tank straight onto the 2 flag drew the Sentinels into a crossfire trap that resulted in a two-for one trade in favour of the Conquerors. After a tight battle it’s Whippet from the Conquerors that puts in the winning shot while he himself is only on 387 health. It was over to the Sentinels to try and pick up a game on attack of Ghost Town. Unfortunately the Conquerors had other plans, taking their defensive game as well.
The Christchurch Conquerors take the first 4-0 win of the season against the North Sydney Sentinels.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 3 Game 3: Adelaide Action X Vs Perth Panthers
The last match of the night saw Natty’s Adelaide Action X versing Str8JaktJim’s Perth Panthers. Both teams needed a win to keep in touch with the ladder leaders.
Panthers took the hill but at the cost of a lot of Lightning Man’s health on their attack of Cliff. Action X took a kill and continued to bleed Panthers players, having set up well and restricting the Panthers movement. Eventually Action X were able to bleed out the Panthers and take a defensive win. Action X took the hill on their attack of Cliff and the game settled into a bit of a stalemate. Panthers managed to get some bleed onto Saxon’s Kranvagn before Panthers dumped over the hill. Having committed too far, Action X bled the Panthers down, eventually taking the win and a 2-0 lead in this series.
Panthers started their attack on their attack of Himmelsdorf slowly but worked in their favour taking a two tanks. The Action X never recovered from that and the Panthers keep the hope of a tie breaker alive. It was not meant to be though. Action X to two of the Panthers tanks early without losing much health and defeat the Panthers without losing a tank.
Adelaide Action X win the series 3-1 against the Perth Panthers
