World Of Tanks ANZPL Season 4 Round 5 has been completed! The single round robin has now been completed and we’ve got a good idea of the teams that are performing.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 5 Game 1
Christchurch Conquerors Vs South Sydney Skorpions
Conquerors started on defence of their map choice Tundra. They played an unconventional line-up with the M-V-Y & T57 Heavy. The Skorpions put 2 tanks on 1 flag but the Conquerors were ready. They managed to isolate dump on the Skorpion’s Napalmer. They were also able to isolate other tanks well to take a defensive win. The Skorpions started the return leg by taking northern control but abandoned the 2 flag. The Conquerors moved to capture the 2 flag with three tanks. The Skorpions were able to get reset shots but bled a fair amount of health. It came down to a 3v3, but a close brawl saw the Conquerors take a 2-0 lead.
The Skorpions started their map pick of Himmelsdorf on attack going for what now seems the standard of going for the 1 flag. The Conquerors had set up on defend the 2 flag and had to rotate to deal with the Skorpions’ attack. Skorpions played their duels wells and got a match back. The Skorpions bled the Conquerors early on the return leg which set the tone for the match. Skorpions used focus fire to take down tanks and levelled the game 2-2.
The Cliff tie breaker had Skorpions on defence. The Conquerors went full attack mode with a one-for-one tank trade trade. Conquerors once again isolated Napalmer but ended with another one-for-one trade. Skorpion’s JT’s got an unlucky ignite and gave the Conquerors a slight advantage. Eventually it came down to a one-on-one between Skorpion’s Russian and Conqueror’s Whippet. Both tanks one shot away from victory. In the end Russian finds a shot onto Whippet to give the Skorpions the win.
South Sydney Skorpions take a very entertaining tie breaker win over the Christchurch Conquerors 3-2.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 5 Game 2
Adelaide Action X Vs Brisbane Bulldogs
Action X got spotted out early on their defence of their map pick of Tundra. This allowed Bulldogs to move onto the 1 cap. Action X rush a rotation north allowing Bulldogs a kill on Saxon. Action X respond with a skill of their own, but they had already bled a fair amount of health. The Bulldogs were able to pick off targets and get the attacking win. Action X took a while but managed to three tanks onto the 2 flag with most of the Bulldogs in the north. The rotating Bulldogs run into a crossfire. Action X made the most of the individual battles and equalised the series.
The action moved to Bulldog’s map pick of Mines. Bulldogs moved quickly onto a 2 cap. Shots were traded and Action X got the reset to relieve some pressure. Bulldogs took a 3v3 and with a big health advantage, but Action X managed to isolate Bulldogs to leave just MadHouse. A 1v3 battle is never ideal but MadHouse managed to have the health advantage. Being on the attack, time was against him. Action X managed to hide and get a timed win. Needing a defensive win to take it to a tie breaker, Bulldogs secured south vision while Action X took the hill. Action X rotated to the 1 line and their attack resulted in a one-for-one trade. Action X took a 3v2 tank advantage and moved onto the 2 flag. Bulldogs got resets in but it was not enough and Action X take the win.
Adelaide Action X beat the Brisbane Bulldogs 3-1 to get a much needed win.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 5 Game 3
Perth Panthers Vs North Sydney Sentinels
Panthers opened on the defence of Himmelsdorf. They set up around the 2 flag with some vision on the 1 flag, which was good because the Sentinels moved three tanks there and started to capture. That forced Panthers into a crossfire to get resetting shots in. Panthers did well to weather the Sentinel’s damage and wind the clock down. The Sentinels proved too strong and took the opening match. The return leg saw the Panthers run the 0 line with all their tanks. Sentinels set up and were able to spot the Panthers running through B0 and set up some great fire as the Panthers drove through A8.With a couple of kills the Sentinels were able to hold off the Panthers and go 2-0 up on the Panthers’ map choice.
Moving to the Sentinel’s map choice of Prokhorovka, Panthers set up for defence. Sentinels were able to take the hill with minimal damage, gaining a lot of map control. Panthers had to retreat to the eastern side of the train line but bled a lot of health doing so. The Sentinels put themselves into a great position and take an attacking win. The return leg saw the Panthers slowly building up for their attack. Panthers were eventually able to get shots in on the Sentinel’s Rowendy and take him down. With knowledge of where the Sentinel’s are, Panthers moved over the train line to isolate Wym0 before moving onto the 2 flag. Panthers take the match with a capture.
North Sydney Sentinels defeat the Perth Panthers 3-1.
