ANZBL Season 3 Round 3 Game 1
Bundaberg Badgers Vs Cairns Comets

Comets started Round 3 on the attack of their map pick Ghost Town. They scouted the eastern side of the map before moving towards the 2 flag. Going for the double cap, they had set up well to prevent the Badgers from getting in reset shots. Eventually the Comets dumped onto the two IS-4s of the Badgers. The Badger’s Auzzienoob survived long that he probably should have but in the end the Comets took the win. Moving to attack on the return leg, the Badgers came in with two T110E3s. The Comets had set up for a 1 flag defence but left them with enough room to rotate to the 2 flag if required. Unable to find a way onto the 1 flag, Badgers moved in force onto the 2 flag. Comets were able to bleed some damage onto their opponents. In the end the Badgers had bled too much and took too many reset shots. The Comets go up 2-0.

The Badgers had picked Murovanka for their map choice and they started on defence. The Comets took some good positions to defend a 1 flag attack but the Badgers responded with a good setup of their own. The Badgers were able to reduce Comet’s AthrunZulla to a one shot. The Badger’s focus fire game was on point and they successfully defend Murovanka. The return leg saw the Badgers move to the attack. They moved in quickly to the 1 flag with a double cap. The Comets were able to get reset shots in from the forest at G1 and the town in the middle of the map. The Badgers got the first kill onto Rupro, but the Comets responded by eliminating the STB-1 of BadBoiBubbles. The Comets were ruthless with the rest of the Badger’s team, taking their defensive match and the game.

The Cairns Comets defeat the Bundaberg Badgers 3-1

ANZBL Season 3 Round 3 Game 2
Auckland Archers Vs Wollongong Wolverines

The Wolverines took hill control on the attack of their map pick of Cliff. The Archers were able to take control around the donut, but the Wolverines moved onto the 2 flag, catching the Archers out of position. Wolverine’s haha_yes found himself upside down, effectively eliminating him from the game until one of this team mates were able to flip him. The Wolverines were able to bleed Archer’s Chegar but the Archers collapsed onto the capturing tanks. A tight brawl ensued with the Archers emerging victorious. Wolverine’s Barricade007 made the hill climb on their defence, but Archers occupied the middle of the hill. The game entered a stalemate as teams jostled for position. A sneaky play by Wolverine’s Mendicant_Bias in the Maus created a crossfire as the Archers pushed forward. The Wolverines were too good in the end and they go up 2-0.

The action moved to Archer’s map choice of Sand River. Wolverines took a lot of map control on their attack, leaving the 1 flag vulnerable. Archers tried to isolate haha_yes as the Wolverines started the 1 flag cap. Archers got the kill but also took a lot of damage in return. Wolverines decide to move off the cap but mistime their push allowing the Archers to decimate their tanks. Hoping to send the game to a tie breaker, the Archers pushed onto their 2 flag on attack. The Wolverines were able to pick off Archer’s 13bladez and cause some indecision from Archers.  This allowed the Wolverines to get in good damage and take a win on their Sand River defence.

The Wollongong Wolverines defeat the Auckland Archers 3-1.

ANZBL Season 3 Round 3 Game 3
Canberra Centurions Vs Hawthorn Hellcats

The last game of the night saw the action return to Sand River as the Hellcat’s map pick. The Hellcats’ attack moved along the A line but got spotted. They managed to put a couple of shots into the Centurions. Hellcats’ G4tekeep3r was caught in the open and bled some health himself but managed to take cover near the ridge around C6. The Centurions were able to bleed down the Hellcats and when the Hellcats forced a fight they lost a tank and left another two tanks in a bad crossfire position. The Centurions successfully defended Sand River. Moving to attack on the return leg, the Centurions were able to remove G4tekeep4r early giving them some serious map control. The Hellcats were forced to retreat from B0, losing a tank as the Centurions started the 2 flag cap. With three tanks on the 2 flag, the Centurions secure the win and go up 2-0.

Moving to the Centurion’s map pick of Prokhorovka, the Hellcats started on attack. With the standard T-100 LT scouting run giving them some information, the Hellcats positioned around the 2 flag. Time was on the Centurion’s side though and eventually the Hellcats needed to make a move. With 2 minutes to go the Hellcats moved onto the 2 flag. A well hidden Centurion’s tank got a reset in but the Hellcats were committed to the cap even though there wasn’t enough time left. Centurions pick up the defensive win. With the win already secured, the Centurions moved to attack on the return leg. They took a lot of control along eastern side of the train line. Centurions isolated Hellcats’ Mantank123 and removed him from the match. The Centurions really started putting the hurt onto the Hellcats as they moved onto the 2 flag double cap. With their tanks in position to punish any Hellcats trying to get the reset, the Centurions get another win.

The Canberra Centurions defeat the Hawthorn Hellcats 4-0.
