World Of Tanks ANZPL Season 4 Round 8 is done. There were so many exciting games. Let’s not mess about, here’s what happen!
ANZPL Season 4 Round 8 Game 1
Brisbane Bulldogs Vs South Sydney Skorpions
The action commenced on the Bulldog’s map pick of Mines, an oddity considering the Skorpions’ dominance of the map. The Skorpions moved quickly to take control on the eastern side of the map and moved onto the 2 flag. Bulldogs had gone central and taken control of the hill. Bulldog’s Ravvi got a reset but the Skorpions just moved another tank onto the 2 flag. Bulldogs tried to isolate Skorpion’s Napalmer and the Skorpions moved off the cap to defend him. This move backfired as the then bled HP and gave the Skorpions their first loss on Mines. The return leg saw Bulldogs move to attack. Both teams headed to the hill and a brawl ensued. In the end it came down to a 2v1 against the Bulldogs and Skorpions levelled the series 1-1.
Skorpions map choice of Skorpions started with the Skorpions pushing around the donut at E3 on attack. The Bulldog’s BC 25t driven by MadHouse scouted all the way down to J6 but the Skorpions were getting good shots in on the rest of his team in the middle. The Skorpions were able to isolate tanks well and took their attacking win. The return leg as the Bulldogs slowly move to middle of the map, but the Skorpions were there. Three minutes in the Bulldogs pushed onto the Skorpion’s Raspberry. Skorpions were at a tank disadvantage but brought it back to a 3v3. Bulldogs had bled Skorpions though and Bulldogs were able to send the series into a tie breaker.
Heading back to Cliff for the tie breaker with Skorpions on defence, the Bulldogs grouped up at F2. The Bulldogs were able to isolate Skorpions’ Russian and take him down. Skorpions retaliate and take down Bulldog’s AVP and Cows. The Bulldogs had their work cut out for them with a 4v2 tank disadvantage. Bulldog’s MadHouse and Buck3t both get kills and eventually win the 2v1 tank advantage. Skorpion’s JT was the last man standing but he wasn’t the saviour today with the Bulldogs taking the tie breaker.
The Brisbane Bulldogs get a tie breaker win 3-2 against the South Sydney Skorpions.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 8 Game 2
Christchurch Conquerors Vs North Sydney Sentinels
Game 2 opened on the Conqueror’s map pick of Mines. The Sentinels set up their attacking game on the hill. The Sentinels looked to be going for the 1 flag but pushed passed it to try to open up the map, but the Conquerors punished them, taking out two tanks. Sentinels managed to bleed the Conquerors and equalled HP despite being down two tanks. The Sentinels held their nerve and eliminated all but one of the Conqueror’s tanks. Conqueror’s Bluey tried to run and hide but the Sentinels found him and took the win. The Sentinels moved to defence on the return leg and quickly took the hill. Sentinel’s Wym0 drove forward straight into the Conquerors and was eliminated. The Conquerors were rolling in numbers and quickly mopped up the rest of the Sentinels to equalise the game.
The action moved to Sentinel’s map pick of Cliff. The defensive Conquerors moved Bluey onto the hill but the Sentinels punished him. The Sentinels were able to rotate two CS-63s around behind the Conquerors and forced a brawl. Conquerors seemed to make the most of it but the Sentinels made the most of their opportunities to take the win on attack. The Conquerors moved to attack on the return leg and got an early kill on to Sentinels’ Del. It was all down hill from there for the Sentinels with the Conquerors’ win sending us to another tie breaker.
The Sentinels went on the attack for the tie breaker on Cliff. Both teams headed to the middle of the map, playing around the bottom of the hill. The Sentinels’ were showing superior focus fire and quickly took the tie breaker win.
North Sydney Sentinels defeat the Christchurch Conquerors 3-2.
ANZPL Season 4 Round 8 Game 3
Perth Panthers Vs Adelaide Action X
The Panthers started on defence of their map pick of Tundra. Both teams moved south towards the 2 flag. The game settled around the 2 flag with both teams bleeding each other. The Panthers were able to get a kill and were happy to sit back and let the attacking Action X come to them. And come they did. Two quick kills to the Action X gave them then advantage and took the win. The Panthers moved to attack on the return leg. They spread along the 8/9 line looking for the information. Action X setup more towards the south but in a position to rotate quickly if required. With time running out the Panthers grouped up and moved through the river. They isolated Action X’s Eugene and took him down while the Panther’s goober won his 1v1 against Action X’s Dongerlord. The Panthers took their chances and levelled the series 1-1.
Moving to Action X’s map choice of Prokhorovka, the Panthers almost got early shots into Dongerlord in the T-100 LT. Map control was split along the train line, the Panthers on the east and Action X on the west. Action X moved in on the 2 flag but Action X’s Ironguard was isolated at A6 and quickly removed and Action X were forced off the cap. Action X’s Val was able to kill the Panther’s Twit but it left him in a position where he couldn’t get away and was killed himself. The Panthers held on and took a timed win. Action X moved to defence on the return leg. Could we be seeing our third tie breaker of the night? After a slow build up Panther’s Dastardly moved onto the 1 flag with his teammates set up to punish any Action X tanks that peaked over the train line. Action X tried to dump over the train line, but it was too late. The Panthers took a capture win.
The Perth Panthers defeat the Adelaide Action X 3-1.
Fantasy League
Players from the tie breaker matches featured heavily in this week’s Fantasy League Team Of The Week. Rainbow (369.3) from the Sentinels topped the team with MadHouse (322.2) and AVP (316.6) featuring from the Bulldogs. Napalmer (320.4) and JT (299.9) from the Skorpions also showed how hard fought their match was.
Next Week
The penultimate round for Season 4 kicks off with the Conquerors taking on the Action X, the former looking to hold onto a top 4 position and the latter needing a win to keep their finals dreams alive. The Skorpions take on the Sentinels in our second Sydney derby of the season. The last battle is between the Bulldogs and the Panthers.
