ANZPL Season 4 Round 10 Game 1
South Sydney Skorpions Vs Christchurch Conquerors

The Skorpions’ position in the finals was not in doubt but they were fighting for a top two spot. Conquerors were trying to find their form from the beginning of the season. Both teams wanting that momentum heading into finals.

Round 10 opened with the Skorpions on defence of their map pick of Mines. They started aggressively with two Obj 277s positioning to rush the backside of the Conquerors. The Conquerors sent Bluey to the hill with the rest of the team looking to push through middle. They committed forward as the two Obj 277s moved closer to dump. In the end they didn’t have to. Bluey dropped off the hill and copped a lot of damage. Armed with the knowledge of where the Obj 277s were, the Conquerors dumped four tanks onto their opponents. The Conquerors got a two-for-one trade and fell onto the Skorpions’ Auzzie. The rest of the Skorpions fell to give the Conquerors an early lead. The Skorpions moved to attack on the return leg and a brawl ensued on the hill. After a frantic couple of minutes, the Skorpions levelled the series 1-1.

The Conquerors headed to their map pick of Prokhorovka on attack. They started slowly wsending three tanks along the hill along the 0 line while two Super Conquerors traverse the train line. The match settled into a stalemate, but time was against the Conquerors. The Skorpions took the initiative as the Conquerors made their move and took two kills, but then struck back with three of their own. The Conquerors moved to the 1 flag to try for a last second capture, but the Skorpions got an easy reset to take the win. Moving to defence on the return leg, the Conquerors sent three tanks deep along the 1 line but the rest of them were caught out by a pack of Skorpions. The Skorpions efficiently cleaned up the rest of their opposition and secured the win.

The South Sydney Skorpions defeat the Christchurch Conquerors 3-1.

ANZPL Season 4 Round 8 Game 2
Brisbane Bulldogs Vs Adelaide Action X

The Bulldogs and Action X may not be able to make finals but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t something on the line. The winner would stay in the ANZPL while the loser would finish last and face the winner of the ANZBL in a relegation match.

The Bulldogs took Sand River as their map choice and started on defence. They set up a standard defence around the 2 flag. Action X got some early scouting knowledge about that and pushed towards the 1 flag. Moving through the river, Action X looked for a way in. They were able to take a lot of map control and push Bulldogs off the 2 flag and they started their push. The Action X took their battles and take the first win without loss. Moving to attack, one of the Bulldogs unfortunately suffered internet issues, forcing the team to go in with only four players. Action X spotted out the 1 flag movement and set up accordingly. They cornered the under-staffed Bulldogs in the southeast and went up 2-0.

Moving to defence on their opponent’s Ghost Town map pick, the Bulldogs entered the north east corner of the town. Action X grouped up on the opposite corner of the town and eventually started a 2 flag cap. The Bulldog’s rotated to get the reset but the Bulldogs had set up a crossfire. Action X moved another tank onto the cap and forced the Bulldogs to commit too deep to get the resets. Action X farmed up a storm and took another win. The Bulldogs moved to attack and both teams brought some off meta tanks into the fight. The Bulldogs moved onto the 1 flag as Action X moved through the town to get the resets. Bulldog’s AVP almost one-shot an opponent with this FV4005. Good cover from the Bulldogs’ heavy tanks saw three Action X tanks go down for no losses. The Bulldogs went on to take the last match of the game.

Adelaide Action X defeat the Brisbane Bulldogs 3-1.

ANZPL Season 4 Round 8 Game 3
North Sydney Sentinels Vs Perth Panthers

With the Skorpions win securing them top spot the last match of the round would decide the placement of the second and third placed teams. A win would give either the Sentinels or the Panthers outright second and secure that precious double chance.

Starting on the Sentinels map pick of Himmelsdorf, the Panthers headed south towards the 1 flag. The Sentinels set up with shots down the 3 line looking to punish the Panthers. The Panthers dumped onto the lonesome Rainbow. Sentinel’s Wym0 brought some support for Rainbow as the teams got a two-for-two trade. The Panthers took a 3v2 tank advantage but the Sentinel’s tanks were full HP. After a tense standoff the Sentinels made the most and took the win. Moving to attack on the return leg the Sentinels grouped up along the 0 line and pushed towards the 2 flag. The Panthers were caught unawares, having set up for a 1 flag defence. The Sentinels put three tanks on the cap and the Panthers were unable to rotate in time. The Sentinels go up 2-0.

Moving to the Panthers map pick of Murovanka, the Panthers made an attacking play to the 2 flag. The Sentinels were anticipating a 1 flag play but were in a position to rotate if required. The Panthers tried for a 2 flag cap but was forced off. The Sentinels got two quick kills to make it incredibly hard for the Panthers. They made short work of the rest of their opponents’ tanks and took a 3-0 lead. Hoping for a win on their defence of Murovanka, the Panthers were looking for reset shots and the Sentinels quickly moved onto the 1 flag. The Sentinels were able to draw the Panthers into a fight and slowly bleed out their tanks. The Panthers brought it back to a 3v3 but the Sentinels were too good and took the win.

The North Sydney Sentinels defeat the Perth Panthers 4-0.
